Mt. Saint Helens is one of America’s most famous volcanoes and a guaranteed highlight of any trip in the Pacific Northwest. The volcano’s eruption in 1980 made international news for its large pyroclastic blast that instantly removed almost 2000 feet from its top, leaving a gaping crater in the north side of the mountain. This premier tourist attraction is easily and comfortably accessible from Downtown Portland by helicopter.
An amazing natural wonder, fly by the crater of Mt. Saint Helens!
You’ll be awed by the otherworldly volcanic landscape that surrounds the blast zone. Miles of ash flows and flattened forests demonstrate the strength of this still active volcano. Relax on this private tour as the helicopter skims you along gorgeous green countryside and over rivers and lakes on your way to the Mt. Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument. Enjoy a perspective like no other as you hover around the rim of the volcano to look down into the crater.
If you want even more after the volcano scenery, opt to zoom through the Columbia River Gorge to check out its famous cliffs and waterfalls including Multnomah Falls. As a final treat, land for an optional picnic stop with light fare and a bottle of your favorite beverage and take a break to chat on a secluded hilltop in the heart of the Gorge.
